After summer is over, people spend less and less time outdoors. However, this time of year is ideal for hiking. The warm, fall colors and crisp autumn air can make for very enjoyable walks and camping trips. We at Hansen Injury Law are grateful to work in one of the beautiful states in the country. We want to use this post to share with you some of our favorite fall hikes in Idaho.
Fall Hikes in Idaho
In order to comfortably enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather, be sure to bring a camera, water bottle, light jacket, and comfortable pair of shoes. Fortunately, there is not much use for bug spray this time of year. Prepare to stay warm and hydrated and you are good to go!
This trail is a few miles north of Ketchum. It is notable for the colors of the leaves and the astounding views of three mountain ranges, and is perfect for this time of year. The Loop is also a popular trail for mountain biking and horseback riding.
West Mountain Trail, not far from Smith’s Ferry, is known for its wildlife. As you hike this trail, you may see elk, deer, and other animals! The full hike is among the more difficult hikes in Idaho, and if you’d like, you can hike to the scenic Tripod Lookout.
Fishhook Creek Trail is a great family hike, winding gently for 2.5 miles and eventually stopping in a beautiful meadow. Great spots and scenes along the way include Beaver Ponds, Heyburn Mountain, and Horstmann Peak. Shady pine trees make for a wonderful light hike.
