September is Addiction Recovery Month! Suffering from an addiction could be one of life’s greatest challenges. Addiction Recovery Month is designed to build awareness, establish networks, and help those suffering with addiction to know that recovery is possible.
The road to recovery isn’t easy. Sometimes you stumble and relapse. Other times you feel frustrated when you can’t meet goals. But understand one thing: you’re not alone. Many people are on the same road as you are, others have just completed it, and some have finished years ago. Regardless, they understand your pain and frustration. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration can connect you with these people.
The Addiction Recovery Month website provides information on local events that build awareness in the community. You can also read personal stories of others’ addiction recovery. Here you can learn different tips and strategies from others’ experiences.
